You put it correctly. I think all of us who made new resolutions for the last New Year (and have not kept them) have to re-look into it.
I intend to loose weight (significant amounts) over the next 5 months.
2 ways for me to do that. I could go to the nearest Police station and ask that I am detained under the ISA for my protection, as listening to the Home Minister, and seeing the recent police actions in asking certain bloggers and leaders of Hindraf to come for a statement, makes me very afraid for myself. As I have inadvertently participated in illegal assemblies during the recent Hari Raya. I attended a few of my friends open houses and did not inquire whether they had obtained police permits.
As a responsible Malaysian citizen, who can trace ancestory to Malaysia to the Chola kingdom in Kedah, I will have to surrender myself to the nearest Police station.
Definitely loose weight...

4) Do not push forward the so-called Judicial Reform because its stinks, an insult to the Majlis Raja-Raja, and a mockery to the real idea of law and fairness..how on earth could you agree that Ambiga and Co is better in choosing our Judges than our Majlis Raja-Raja???

Engineering politics, I don't know how many books I have but if I organised them, I might know!! :-) I don't really have many French books. Mostly I've been learning 'by ear' so to speak...but not in any systematic way. So my vocab and grammar are somewhat limited...

I'm no great admirer of Pak Lah, but i feel sorry for him. Many of us do believe that he started out ernestly with his reform promises, but alas, he is powerless against the warlords in the establishment who wont give up their previledges.
It is unfortunate that he also succumbed to the previledges of high office.

Saya rasa kita semua tidak sempurna.
kalau ada seorang pesakit AIDS yang nak mati dalam masa 5 bulan, dia minta kita tolong bawa dia ke Paris melancung, bawa ke rumah anak yatim untuk bersedekah, bawa dia ke Beijing untuk melawat, tolong sediakan wasiat dia, bantu dia selesaikan masalah keluarganya dan ..... adakah kita akan mentertawakannya???? kita kata 'padan muka awak, siapa suruh cari penyakit' Adakah kita tergamak????
Biasalah ragam manusia, kalau berkaitan AIDS kita sanggup buat hanya kerana kita tahu mereka tidak hidup lama, mereka sakit pun sebab bukan salah mereka, mereka dapat AIDS daripada orang lain.
Tapi kalau Pak Lah nak cuba buat yang terbaik dalam masa 5 bulan semua orang ketawakan dia, orang kata 5 tahun takleh buat nak buat 5 bulan. Saya tak kasihankan Pak Lah, saya kasihankan orang yang ketawakan Pak Lah. Satu hari tuhan akan balas balik dimana dia juga mengalami situasi yang sama macam Pak Lah.
Sepatutnya waktu ini kita perlu banyak tolong-menolong, bersatu-padu demi kebaikan agama, bangsa dan negara.
Semua orang akan senang jika kita sentiasa berusaha bersama.
Labulabi, memang kita semua tak sempurna. Kalau kita faham mengenai penyakit AIDS sekarang, kita tahu bahawa tidak semestinya seorang yang dijangkiti HIV itu akan tetap mati lebih awal daripada orang lain, lebih-lebih lagi kalau dia mengambil kesempatan mendapat rawatan percuma dari Kerajaan kita. Hanya Allah SWT yang boleh menentukan dan kita tahu ada orang yang tak sakit apa-apa pun boleh pergi begitu saja.
Bukan saya tak kesian Pak Lah...saya kesian yang dia telah dinasihatkan membuat kenyataan ini yang tidak sesiapa pun berkebolehan menunaikan. Kalau dia mengatakan bahawa dia akan MEMULAKAN proses untuk pembaharuan ini supaya PM baru akan dapat teruskan, dah memadai dan akan lebih disanjung tinggi. Dengan kenyataan ini, dia sudah 'set too high a bar for himself' dan kemungkinan dia tidak dapat menunaikannya adalah tinggi, kan? Kesian jugak nanti.
Dear MM, Bar Council already said it's better to let Majlis Raja-raja to choose which person is the best for becoming CJ. They said CJ should be apolitical.
I think Pak Lah will do a great deed to all of us if he makes sure our judicial system is really independent before he leaves office.

Where is your compassion? I don't know the guy but I do know that he was nursing a wife that had terminal cancer...This is typical of Malays.
His first couple of years in office was having to cope with a sick wife...then her death and the mourning that followed.
As for his next 5 months, no doubt he is a trifle ambitious but then again he's not having a baby ...that would lead to a premature birth...

Wishing for a good, smooth transition of power so as to ensure that the political stability of our beloved country is always uphold.
It is relatively unusual for the PM to achieve so much over the next 5 months. Some word of encouragement though; prioritize the agenda well & maximize on those things that could monopolise the spotlight for another great leader like Pak Lah, who has served the country for this long to retire happily.
Btw, how best can rakyat remember Pak Lah as and recognise the PM contributions to the country? Would the title Bapa Reformasi appropriate?
May the Allah bless Pak Lah always & grant him the might to carry on his mission of life even after retirement.

another thing, i do agree with u labulabi, n to some extent i do agree with u as well marina. why dont we give support to paklah for he has willingly to step down earlier than 2010. lagipun, he has a noble intention to set everything back right on track.
