Hi IMM, I've just been really busy with work. Also not very inspired to write much. Other bloggers are more in tune with what's going on so I don't know what I can add to it all.
charlie wilson's war is a "must see" film for anyone who wanted to understand the US of A policy in "that" part of the world during "that" time period - watch & don't blink till the end (the part when they casually ignore charlie's request for more fund to develop post-war Afghanistan; he specifically mentioned education and law&order as primary areas of funding) then we will understand what Hillary mean when she said that
Just curious to know what's your take on the latest merciless killing of thousands of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka including children and women, and about 300,000 thousand IDP are being kept in run down tents in the name of screening. There are also reports that the Sri lankan soldiers are taking away tamil kids, both males and females as young as 12 yrs old,I wonder will the parents ever see them again? All medical and food aid by the international community have been denied access.Tq and regards.
Joenathan, how is it that when I post something on Sri Lanka you don't comment, yet the minute I talk about anyone else, you're quick to ask me to comment on Sri Lanka?
My sympathies are with the civilians caught in the middle (see last post). They've suffered enough and are still suffering. I think the UN should be allowed in not just for relief work but also to bear witness to what has happened and what is happening. I don't think we should subscribe to this non-interference resolution. If we do, then we can't say anything about Aung San Suu Kyii either. If the SL government has nothing to hide, it shouldn't worry about international scrutiny.
I think you misunderstood me.I probably missed your other postings on SL.I posted my comment above innocently, just to know your sincere opinion,no sarcasm whatsoever intended. My apols if you had taken it otherwise.
BTW ,I certainly appreciate your down to earth reply and also your sincere and honest opinion on SL, as I always do.Your opinion as a good samaritan, does matter to all of us.
My goodness Jonathan, the article on Sri Lankan Tamils are right below this article, and this article isn't even long so, while it is still the latest article here (which it was when you posted both your comments), you can see the words Sri Lankan Tamils as soon as you arrive at this page.
this disclosure from hillary clinton (democrat) reminds me of what ron paul (republican) spoke in congress a few years ago. ron paul was probably far ahead than any current leaders in the US administration to admit what the US foreign policy has done to damage the world, how the US itself had helped (and wanted) to breed extremism in many parts of the muslim world in order to tackle/combat communism during the cold-war period.. and how 9-11 was partly a result of the US's own doing.. i think readers may be able to find his old speeches in congress about this matter on youtube as well..
discussing about "truth and reconciliation" (which, of course, should go hand-in-hand), i agree with one of the comments above.. admitting the truth and reconciling applies to many political issues at hand in this world, and similarly so in our own homeland.. oh well..
US Presidents and Governments are always heavily influenced by the Zionist and pro-Israel lobby. Let us watch and see what Obama and co. can really achieve in the Middle East. The Clinton's had their chance before. The Bush administration carried on what had been put into place over decades since the Second World War. The promotion of oppression in the interests of US interests will go on and on. Who will stand up and lead those who wish to defend peace and justice in the face of this evil superpower? Your father made a lot of noise on this subject over the years. We need other leaders with as much courage to speak the truth.
And that is why I personally think Obama will be assassinated, or at least a couple of attempts will be made by the oligarchies, a.k.a. the silent government, JFK style (err..the part where no one hitherto, actually knows who did it).
Especially his policy in leaning away from nuclear and oil dependency. If that will not upset at least the seven sisters oil cartels, i don't know what else will. No good news could come from upsetting these sisters...
Something I've always believed in -i.e. women have greater integrity and will come out clean because their conscience will not allow them to be dishonest!
Deepak Chopra on the Larry King panel on women's self worth and self esteem last week says exactly this.
Because women are nurturers of the family they are imbued with a greater sense of right and wrong. They owe it to their children to be exemplary moral leaders. And to their husbands too - if they will only listen!
HEAR HEAR!
Women must lead the way in restoring moral order and conscience back into society!
I hope Hilary Clinton will succeed despite the male chauvinism that will be stacked up against her!!!
... is a newspaper columnist, blogger, occasional TV and film producer, activist and general nuisance. She feels most comfortable amongst colourful characters and despite a great fondness for clothes and shoes, can't abide cocktail parties for the smart set. Most people know her by her constant talk about safe sex for HIV prevention but occasionally she also irritates some people by going on about feminism and Islam. She yearns for the days when her legs were still skinny and dreams of writing a blockbuster one day. Meanwhile she tries to be nice to husband Tara and patient with her children Ineza, Haga and Shaista.

Yes, kudos to Hillary for having the "balls" to finally admit US' vindicative forward defence policy.
'Harvest what you sow.'
It wouldn't hurt BN/UMNO to take this advice too.

Hi Afuw,
I understand your consternation,it was an oversight on my part.Thnx anyway.
Cheers.
US has always been a great country. And it will remain so or even be better for many years to come, if not eternity.
